Design Notes
My creative partner Tim Lillis and myself built and ran a small mission-focussed interactive design agency from 2016 to 2022, based in some of the principals we learned from our award-winning interactive magazine. It was a lot of work, and the business model (only mission-driven clients, sometimes comically small fees) didn't make it a full-time endeavor. But with clients like the International Committee for the Red Cross, Human Rights Watch, and the Dodge Foundation, we found a steady niche for the type of work we love to do (and win Webbys for).
We were researchers, innovators, designers, animators, DPs, art directors, engineers, and marketing, all in one package. It was amazing. And exhausting.
