A Sober Set of Wishes from Unsober Men

Sometimes when you make stuff for a living, you kind of start forgetting why you do it, because the bills never stop coming. So you have to keep on making, and keep on making, and you oftentimes lose sight of why are making, and how it will affect other people.

A very dear friend had a health scare, and as so often happens with a distributed group of friends, we weren't there offer solace to him and his family. Things worked out well for him in the end, but for a bit, it was really scary. This is a man who is nearly magically in his ability to so many things, so well – a doer, a racounter, an engineer, a poet. And so we rallied and made him a Get Well zine to maybe offer a little glint of light to his life, with stories and poetry and comedy bits and art. I volunteered to design it.

Honestly one of the best things I've ever designed. I don't think that's a coincidence.
