    Cablegate Comix
  • What happens when secret State Department
communications get a little bit of love.
Created in partnership with the popular cultural blog HiLoBrow and TheAtlantic.com, in 2010 I had an idea and started sifting through the massive trove of then-recently released Wikileaks cables.

I had an instinct that, amongst both the jaw-dropping revelations and load of boring mundanity, there was human stories that could be told and humanize both the business of statecraft and the actors caught up in this drama.

I made ten mini-comics from found cables, and the response was overwhelming, far more than I thought there would be, with stories about from Washington DC to Brazil, in place like The Atlantic, Reddit, The Guardian, and boingboing.

I even got interviewed for Benjamen Walker's brilliant show, Too Much Information. I only sound slightly stupid.
